2016 Telluride Film Festival Lineup

The Telluride Film Festival announced their lineup this afternoon, and although most of the films that will be shown in the small little mountain vista in Colorado were expected, excitement is still abound as the best time of the film year gets under way. The fall is where we get the majority of the quality films, as well as the daunting and politically grueling Oscar campaigns that go into full swing. Good times are before us.

Some of the big films playing this weekend, mainly La La Land and Arrival, have already been seen over the past couple of days. Both of these films received glowing notices out of Venice and are high on my most anticipated films for the rest of 2016. Also to be shown in Telluride are Clint Eastwood’s Sully, starring Tom Hanks; Ben Younger’s Bleed For This, starring Miles Teller; and Barry Jenkins’ highly anticipated Moonlight. Oh yeah, and that little Sundance darling that might just win the whole thing come Oscar night, Kenneth Lonergan’s Manchester By the Sea starring Casey Affleck, Michelle Williams and Kyle Chandler. I have high hopes for that one.

Here is a complete list of films that will be playing this weekend, September 2nd – 5th, in Telluride. Enjoy!
